"From the Shadow"

Our deepest fears and shadows are not enemies, but parts of ourselves waiting to be recognized.…

The woman in the painting is like freezing in that fragile but powerful moment when for the first time she dares to touch the shadows hidden inside her with an open heart.

Cicada larvae come out of her body, like from underground, where they have been for many years, waiting for the most important moment of development – like the most deeply hidden feelings and fears, suppressed emotions, forgotten shadows finally find their way out.

The lips of a woman, on which the larva is reborn into an adult insect, become a symbol of self-expression. This is not a struggle, not a desire to expel undesirable sides from oneself, but their conscious acceptance and subsequent release. Cracks on a woman’s skin indicate the pain of this process. They don’t make her weaker, on the contrary — it is through this experience that she becomes whole. The darkness around us highlights the intimacy of this process. The darkness here is not a threat, but a space for a deep encounter with oneself. In this silence, genuine acceptance is born and a real transformation takes place.
